Bathroom Remodel: Before & After

We sat down with Caitlin Tucker, Designer on one of our most recent bathroom remodel projects to chat about what the process can look like from start to finish. Each project is different than the next, based on the client’s vision and how much of the original space will be kept. This was a fresh start, and the before and after difference is always so magical!

Were there any elements about the space that you wanted to keep, or was this a fresh project from start to finish?

“We really did not keep any elements from the original bathroom, this was a complete gut. We actually took some space from an adjacent bedroom closet to make the bathroom bigger and more symmetrical. It is always nice when we can help expand the client’s vision of what can be done, by sometimes expanding the space itself!”

What is your favorite element of the finished project?

“For this particular project, we added a large window by the tub that faces out to the client’s beautiful backyard. I love how that turned out, and how relaxing that will be for the client to enjoy the view while sitting in their new tub. I also love the checkered tile floor. I am really into that look now and will be incorporating this for sure in more work in the future.”

How did you work with the client in order to complete their vision, what does that beginning process look like?

“We like to start by having a conversation with the client first. We look at inspiration photos that they have chosen and use that as our starting point. We then present floor plan options to better envision our potential opportunities and then once we have decided with the client, what they like the most, it all just sparks from there! This is a very fun part of the process and looks different for everyone, based on their vision and how much they want to be involved in the design conversations.”
