5 Unique Ways To Set Your Table

One of the best parts of a newly remodeled kitchen is feeling like you have a space to host and cook in again! As we approach the holidays, we will be hosting in our own homes and love to decorate both the kitchen and dining room to create a warm and welcoming ambiance for ourselves and our guests. Get creative this year and try out some of these fun ways to set your table. As always, If you are looking for a team to reimagine your kitchen, click here to get in touch with our team.

Layering Textiles

A great way to brighten and add lots of texture and shape to your table is by layering placemats with tablecloths. Choosing two patterns that have similar colors can add a dynamic style to your final tablescape. If bold patterns aren’t your thing, you can also layer a linen tablecloth with a textured placemat. This can help you achieve a more polished look, but won’t include as much color. We love how Mcgee&Co are pairing the two textures together, and then using the flatware set to elevate and complete the look!

Mini Florals

Oftentimes we choose a large centerpiece to be the main focal point of our table setting, however, this can sometimes present issues when actually hosting a dinner, as it can block the flow of conversation. A fun way to still add florals to your look, while doing so in a way that is a bit more unique is by using a few smaller vases, but still one large bouquet. Simply cut the stems much shorter, and arrange mini bouquets to place around the table. You can even use dried flowers, and place a name card into the vase with the mini floral arrangement. These arrangements from a seller on Etsy are a perfect example of how to execute this sweet look.

Herbs As Decor

If you have a few herbs leftover from cooking or can spare a few sprigs from your garden, they can help bring life and a familiar food scent to the table. Tuck a sprig of Rosemary, Mint, or Sage into your napkin fold or napkin ring to add a touch of fresh greenery. Finish off the look by placing it on your plate setting. This is such an easy and affordable way to add a touch of elegance to the table.

Unique Silverware

Another unique twist you can add to your table settings this year is using antique or mismatched silverware. Antique or consignment stores often have loose silverware, with beautiful vintage styles which can be great when mixed in with more modern dining plates. Balancing a few different looks on your table will create a strong finished product. If you have a set of sterling silver in a case for special occasions, this is your sign to start using it!

Taperer Candleholders

A beautiful way to add elegance to the table is by adding a candle feature. The light that a tall candle can give off will help make the other features of your table stronger and more dramatic. These Poconos Hammered Taper Candleholders from Potterybarn will be that finishing touch on your table. Use them on the mantle during the rest of the year to get even more use out of these showstoppers!
